JellyBean Concert featuring special guests: Storytime
Stage
"Looking for Some Good Clean Fun"

Sunday, November 18 at 2:15 p.m.
Join storytellers Nora and Erin Lee as they celebrate fun food, terrific
teeth, and bubble baths gone horribly awry in this zany exploration of
healthy habits, featuring favorite stories and brand new songs!
Storytime
Stage is a fun-filled, fast-paced combination of audience participation,
performance and lots of pretend.
In addition to learning how to care for our own health and wellbeing we would like to encourage children and families to think about
caring for others. Please consider bringing an item for a less fortunate child or teen.
Suggested Donation:
$10 per family, or a donation of toiletries
to be delivered to the children at the Pleasantville Cottage School.

Literary Daughters and
Their Fathers
Wednesdays, November 7, 14, 28 at 8:00 p.m.
Series: $30, JCC
member $15
Guest Lecturer:
Diane Travers
This series focuses on
the unique relationships between three Jewish women writers and their
fathers. Their unique voices reveal the ways these men helped or
hindered their creativity and development. The lives and work of Esther
Kreitman, little-known sister of Isaac Bashevis Singer, Grace Paley, who
at 73 remains one of America’s most revered short story writers, and
Janna Malamud Smith, Bernard Malamud’s daughter.
Kreitman's father, stern and rabbinical, lived in a Polish shtetl.
Paley's was a physician who embraced 20th century secular American life,
and Smith’s father was a Jewish literary giant.
Diane Travers holds
an MFA in creative writing from Sarah Lawrence College. She teaches
writing and literature at Purchase College.
