Almost Home

Almost Home (grades K-6) is a warm, safe, stimulating, professionally supervised after school enrichment program, which offers age appropriate activities in an educational, recreational and social setting. Children participate in a variety of activities including arts & crafts, games, clubs, computer activities, and homework help.

Special guests visit Almost Home monthly to teach about and help children experience art, science, animals, and other interesting and fun topics.

Extra curricular activities are available at the JCC during Almost Home hours. Many of the classes listed on the following pages have discounted “AH” rates for program participants. These discounts only apply if the class is on a regularly scheduled Almost Home day.

Hours: Monday-Friday from full-day school dismissal until 6:00 p.m. Follows the Tarrytown and Irvington school calendars.

Almost Home Kindergarten (AHK)              

Children attending half-day kindergarten bring a bag lunch to the JCC, where they participate in music, crafts, cooking and playground activities until 3:00 p.m. when Almost Home begins.   Flexible scheduling for half-day kindergarten.

Phase-in fee: $25 per day. Call for package discounts.    3519

Almost Home Extensions: Almost Homers are welcome at the JCC from noon to 3:00 p.m. on half-days for an additional fee of $25 per day. Pre-registration is required.

Almost Home After Hours: Children can remain with a staff member in the Tech Center or Game Room, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00-6:30 p.m.

Fees: Call for fees.

 

Transportation: Provided to the JCC by the Tarrytown and Irvington schools at no additional fee.

New Opportunities:
(Grades K-6)
Special education professionals and
Special Needs Training Institute participants assist children with developmental and physical disabilities

within the Almost Home after school

program. All activities are available to all students enrolled. An intake interview is required. New Opportunities is made possible through a grant from the Hudson Valley Developmental

Disabilities Services Office.

 

Service Project Club

(grades 4 - 6)

Plan and carry out community service projects and recreational outings.
