Summer Camping

Children discover their creativity when they engage in an arts and crafts project, learn to play tennis, experience their first overnight, swim the length of the pool, sing a Shabbat song. Children discover their creativity at a JCC summer camp where each program encourages campers to develop their imagination and individual abilities.

Training Camp                    NEW!!
Turning two between January 1 and June 30, 2010
Lisa Feinman, LMSW, Director
Now there is a two-day program for our littlest people with activities to meet their little size.At Training Camp, specialists in crafts and music will visit their toddler-size classroom each week. Games, songs, sprinkler fun, sandbox time and playground activities make this introduction to day camp a perfect fit.

Little Friends Day Camp

(2.5 by July 1, 2010-4.5 Years)

Lisa Feinman, LMSW, Director

Little Friends Day Camp is designed especially for children entering a pre-school 3s or 4s program. With air-conditioned indoor spaces, an exciting and imaginative outdoor playground, and breezy sport and water play areas, children have a memorable summer experience rain or shine.

Bigger Friends

(Entering Kindergarten)

Lisa Feinman, LMSW, Director

Bigger Friends Day Camp combines all the fun of Little Friends with offsite adventures appropriate for campers preparing to enter kindergarten in the fall. Theme days, Jewish culture, art, music, and karate specialties are coupled with two weekly instructional and free swim periods. Gradually increasing the distance and length of weekly trips help campers explore the world beyond our camp and acclimate them to the big school bus before school begins.

JCC Country Day

(6-14 Years)

Sheldon Gitelman, MS, Director

Stacy Gentile, Camp Administrator

JCC Country Day offers an endless list of activities; two swims daily, tennis, gymnastics, boating, arts and crafts, archery, basketball, dance, drama, music, carnival day, and a great end-of-camp

trip all based on the Jewish values and culture. Senior campers receive a special bonus when they accompany the Super Seniors on a three-day, two-night overnight to Lake George.

Super Seniors

(Ages 12-14)

Older campers need to spread their wings and Super Seniors gives them the perfect opportunity. While they enjoy all the great activities at our campground, the real treats are the weekly outings that might include a three-day, two-night adventure to Lake George, a day trip to Mountain Creek, and a Yankee or Mets game. Traveling in an air-conditioned bus, the Super Senior experience is one that tells our campers “we know you’re growing up and you’re ready for more”.

Camp BaShemesh

(Ages 6-14 with special needs)

Mindy Cohen, LMSW, Director

At Camp BaShemesh, children with mild to moderate developmental and learning disabilities engage in an exciting summer experience with therapeutic recreation and activities that build self-esteem

and independence, while maximizing opportunities for inclusion with typical JCC Country Day campers. Camp BaShemesh fosters the strengths of each child and challenges them to stretch and

grow alongside their typical peers.
