Top 10 facts about JCC Maccabi ArtsFest
ArtsFest is...
1. An arts
program designed for creative Jewish teens from North America and around
the world entering grades 8-12.
2. Taking place at the Sabes JCC in Minneapolis, Minnesota from
August 17-August 22, 2008.
3. A program
for teens interested in various art forms. We offer art specialties like
acting, creative writing, dance, digital media, film, jazz/world music,
multi-media art, musical theater, rock/pop bands, vocal music and
more! (See full list in left-hand column.)
4. A program where teens come as part of a delegation from their local
JCC but participate and collaborate with artists from all over the world
in the art specialty of their choice.

5. A
great way to learn and grow with the help of an artist in residence who
is a master in his or her field.
6. A Jewish
experience which includes Jewish programming, a social action project
and Israel infusion as well as fun social events and home hospitality.

Not a competition but teens are required to meet certain requirements to
participate. Teens work together with their artist in residence and the
other teens in their specialty to create art for the
collaborative final performance and gallery.
8. Open to everyone for the final performance on Thursday evening but
closed to the public during the week while the teens participate in
their art specialty workshops.
